Rural architecture

The 18^th century and the beginning of the 19^th century were characterised by intense building development; for this reason, we can come across many diverse historic buildings, including buildings of wooden architecture, in the territory of Masovia. A few thousand objects of this kind have survived, including urban and rural houses, outbuildings and utility buildings, such as granaries, barns or the last wooden windmills. The Masovian Trail of Tradition allows us to rediscover and enhance the richness of this landscape by presenting historic wooden buildings situated in rural and small-town areas.
